St Matthew's Primary School & Nursery

Admissions

St Matthew’s School serves not only its local community in Westminster, but also children from our neighbouring boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark and Camden.

For some this is a short journey over one of the bridges, and for others it might be a longer journey from the commuter belt because their parents work locally in Whitehall, Westminster or Victoria.

With Breakfast Club starting at 7.45am, and After School Club finishing at 6pm, working parents are well-catered for at St Matthew’s School.

For Reception Class Admissions - September 2021

If you are interested in sending your child to St Matthew’s for Reception Class in September 2021, we would be delighted to meet you!

Due to the current restrictions of Covid-19, unfortunately we are not able to invite visitors into school at the moment.  However, a virtual meeting or phone call can be arranged with Mrs Jewitt, Mrs Selinas or Ms Green at a date and time to suit individual families.  Mrs Jewitt, Mrs Selinas or Ms Green will talk to families about the school and answer any questions you may have.

Please arrange a virtual meeting or telephone call with the Headteacher or one of the Assistant Headteacher via the school office (office@stmwschool.org.uk or 020 7504 0500).

Applications to Reception Class should be made vie the eAdmissions website and a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) can also be completed and sent back to the St Matthew's School office.

For a place in our Nursery Class, parents must complete the school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and return this directly to the school office.  You do not need to apply through your local authority for applications to Nursery.

Each year, we have 22 full-time Nursery places available (9am-3.30pm) and 6 part-time places (morning or afternoon).

The first 15 hours of Nursery Class are free for all pupils.  For the additional 15 hours (for a full time place) parents can supply the school with a 30 hour code or pay £50 a week.  Free places are available for children of service families and for families that can demonstrate that their child is eligible for free school meals.

Please contact the school office if you need more information about this process.

For In-Year Admissions
(joining the school in any year group at any time of the school year)

To apply for an in-year place in any of our other year groups (Years 1-6) parents/carers need to apply through their Local Authority’s admissions team and must also complete the Supplementary Information Form for Admission to St Matthew’s School.
