Collective Worship
As a Church of England school, Collective Worship is at the heart of who we are.
Collective Worship at St Matthew's is inclusive, invitational and inspirational.
We offer the opportunity for pupils and adults to grow spiritually through experiences of prayer, stillness, worship and reflection.
We offer opportunities to worship in different ways using music, silence, story, prayer and reflection.
We aim for pupils and adults to appreciate the relevance of faith in today's world.
Our School Christian Values
"You are the light of the world."

about Superheroes
We hold regular Church services at St Matthew’s Church to celebrate festivals and special events during the year.
The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Matthew’s as a Church School is Outstanding, as judged by our most recent RE & Collective Worship inspection (Section 48, May 2016). The report particularly comments on the strong Christian ethos, our school worship, and the spiritual and moral development of both pupils and staff.
Find out more by reading our Section 48 report.
Parents and visitors are warmly encouraged to attend school mass every Wednesday morning in school and Celebration Assembly Worship every Friday afternoon, where children’s achievements, class work and birthdays are shared and celebrated. At the end of our Celebration worship each week, we say our school prayer together.
The school community contributed ideas towards the review of our school prayer. Our school prayer reflects our school vision and motto.
